Gather at Expanding Light Guest Services for the tour.
Time: The free community tour departs Thursdays and Saturdays at 1:30pm.
Location: Meet at the Guest Services building at The Expanding Light Retreat, Ananda Village’s guest retreat, 14618 Tyler Foote Rd., Nevada City, CA 95959.

The tour includes a combination of walking and driving, and takes approximately 1 ½ – 2 hours.
Tour Highlights: Highlights include a visit to “downtown Ananda,” our permaculture garden, Ananda Farm, residential areas, and an extended stop at Crystal Hermitage’s gardens, gift shop and museum, the spiritual heart of Ananda Village.
- From Tyler Foote Rd., turn left (at the entrance of Ananda Village) onto Ananda Way.
- Almost immediately, turn left onto Expanding Light Way. (If you find yourself at the T intersection with the fountain, you’ve driven too far and will need to turn around.)
- Drive up the hill on Expanding Light Way. There is parking at the top, and the Guest Services building (which has a covered portico) is on the right.
Tours at Other Days and Times
At this time, 1:30pm Saturday is the only time a guided tour is offered.
At other times, visitors are welcome to come to the Ananda Village Reception Office (open 10am – 4pm Mon. – Fri.). We are happy to give you directions to Crystal Hermitage, the spiritual heart of the community.
